Look Autonomous view of Chrysler Minivans
Las Vegas – Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) introduced the concept of autonomous tech minivan, Chrysler Portal. This concept diving debut at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017.
In a press release on Tuesday (03/01/2017), the concept was developed to become the third space between office and home. This concept comes with a modern interior as well as advanced technology.
Chrysler Portal has a spacious cabin space and use high quality materials. This concept is designed to complement the lifestyle of the millennium.
“(Concept Chrysler Portal) serves as a social hub for up to six people can enjoy, and it is also designed to accommodate the millennium when they begin their transition into family mode,” said Globa FCA Head of Design, Ralph Gilles.
Chrysler concept Portal utilizes advanced sensor systems are paired with high-powered computing system. This concept is supported by the autonomous steering system level 3. To support an autonomous system, the concept is equipped with sensing technology, including cameras, radar, lidar and ultrasonic technology.
More sophisticated, this concept can recognize a person’s face and is able to configure the settings of the driver and passengers. Voice biometric system allows the driver and passengers to use commands like opening the door.
Social communication in the vehicle also allows passengers to share music, photos and video through the screen. There was also a motion control system to open the door, to monitor the volume of music to answering a phone call by simply moving the hand. Coupled with an intercom system that allows the driver or front passenger to communicate clearly with the third-row passengers.
This concept is an electric-powered cars. Strength comes from lithium-ion batteries of 100 kWh. When the battery is filled to the brim, the car can reach a distance of up to 402 km. With the DC Fast Charger technology, this car can reach a distance of 241 km with only 20 minutes of charging time.
